Diagnosis. The species is easily recognized by the simple lower mandibular margin and by the combination of erect setae on frons and tergum I and the dark gaster. The clypeal projection is triangular. For further description see Pulawski (1992).
Geographic distribution. Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania to Egypt, Greece (Crete Island and Peloponnesus) , Israel, Iran, Oman India and Sri Lanka.
Material examined. SENEGAL: 1 male 29.vi.2004 70 km W Tambacounda (OLL) . GREECE: 2 females and 5 males 24.vi.2012 ; 1 male 12.vii.2010 Karpathos Island, Lefkos (OLL) . IRAN: 1 male 20–29.vii.2013, Fars, Neyriz-Jaafarabad 29°16´N ;54°19´E; 1795 m (Jahrom Branch, Islamic Azad University).
