Advikus siddappajii View in CoL sp. nov.
Figs 5 View FIGURES 5 ABG, 6A–E, J, 7A, C–E, 8A–I.
Fulvous. Male with large patch on posterior half of pronotum and smaller paler areas anteromedially on crown, reddish brown. Structure as in generic description. Profemur with setal row AV with 16 short, peg-like setae present only in proximal half and AV1 hair-like at distal end below seta AM1; row AD well developed with 15 short setae, AM1 well developed at distal end, intercalary row (IC) with about 11 hair-like setae. Metabasitrsomere with 4 platellae on apical transverse row flanked by one seta on either side, plantar surface with 6 short, stout setae in a row. Female sternite VII with posterior margin slightly concave with lateral angles rounded.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with dorsal margin in lateral view, longer than height, posteriorly narrowed, ventral margin concave with dorsal marginal spine-like process, slightly exceeding posterior margin, dorsum deepley excavated in the form of U. Valve large, triangular, twice as wide basally as long. Subgenital plate triangular with lateral marginal long setae, caudal margin rounded. Style with basal area broad, 0.66 as wide as total length, apophysis slightly laterally curved. Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme well developed, of uneven width in lateral view, basal half of aedeagus cylindrical, with a hood-like lateral expansion (seen in dorsal and ventral view), shaft with laterobasal pair of curved processes, shaft strongly anteriorly curved in lateral view, gonopore apical with shaft extending beyond gonopore.
Measurements. Male 5.2–5.3 mm long, 1.15 mm wide across eyes and 1.3 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum. Female 5.6–6.2 mm long, 1.3 mm wide across eyes and 1.6 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.
Material examined. INDIA: Karnataka: HOLOTYPE ³, Mudigere , 970 m, 23.v.1975, C.A. Viraktamath ( UASB) . PARATYPES: 1³, 1 ♀, data as in holotype; 6 ♀, data as in holotype except collected on 22.v.1975; 2 ♀, data as in holotype except collected on 22.v.1975, Mallik; 1♀, M.N. Kodlipet, 6.iv.1975, C.A. Viraktamath ( UASB) .
Etymology. This species is named after late Dr. C. Siddappaji, a very talented field entomologist and was instrumental in exploring leafhopper fauna in Mudigere area of Karnataka.
Remarks. This species externally resembles G. cingalensis Distant but differs in being smaller in size. It differs from A. andamanicus sp. nov. and A. radhamaniae sp. nov. in lacking a dark brown spot ventrad of the pronotal lateral carinae and in the presence of reddish brown posterior submarginal patches on the pronotum in the male. However, the three species have entirely different male genitalia.
