Distribution

China (Henan, Shaanxi), Russia (Far East).

Diagnosis

Forewing length 7.0–8.0 mm. This species is similar to A. laetana in facies and in the male genitalia. It can be distinguished superficially from the latter by the indistinct basal patch with small grayish-brown spots in the forewing ( Figure 2 ); in A. laetana , the basal patch is dark brown and oval. The male genitalia of A. amplimacula ( Figure 27 ) are distinguished by the triangular cucullus and the small, sharp projection on the sacculus. Ancylis laetana has a rectangular cucullus, and the sacculus bears a large, sharp projection. The female genitalia ( Figure 50 ) are characterized by the funnel-shaped antrum and a pair of same sized blade-shaped signa.

Remarks

This species is reported for the first time from China.
