Eight males and two females of this taxon were collected on the hilltop of the PNSD in 2014. All specimens were observed from mid-afternoon to sunset, flying from two to four meters above the ground.
The phenotype of the specimens found at the PNSD is similar to the type specimen of M. nepticula stigmosa ( Warren et al. 2016) . The male genitalia of M. nepticula stigmosa is similar to M. simplex Bates, 1868 and M. leucogyna Hall & Lamas, 2007 ; these three species probably are closely related, belonging to the same species group ( Hall & Lamas 2007).
