Hoplosternus carinatus Brenske 1896a: 164 (type locality: Naga Hills); Dalla Torre 1912: 264 (catalogue).

Melolontha carinata: Li et al. 2010: 344 , figs. 8, 17 (key, checklist); Krajčík 2012: 158 (checklist).

Material examined. India, Uttarakhand: Almora, Dinapani , 03.x.2001, 1♁, leg. P. Mukhopadhyay [ NZSI] .

Diagnosis. Refer to species key.

Distribution. India: Nagaland ( Brenske 1896a) and Uttarakhand (new record); Bangladesh ( Dalla Torre 1912) and Cambodia ( Schoolmeesters 2023).

Remarks. As listed by Schoolmeesters (2023), the Cambodian record of this species needs to be further investigated, as the area is quite far from the known geographical range.
