Hoplosternus flabellata: Nonfried 1892: 285 (checklist); Brenske 1896a: 164 (brief description, H. flabellatus ); Barlow 1899: 269 (checklist); Dalla Torre 1912: 264 (catalogue as H. flabellatus ); Zhang 1988: 243 (new record, brief description as H. flabellatus ).

Distribution. India: Sikkim ( Brenske 1896a) and West Bengal (Darjeeling); Bangladesh ( Sharp 1876) and China ( Zhang 1988).
