Hydromanicus spatulatus , new species group
This species group is characterized by species with the following character combination: (1) segment IX with very narrow, almost lacking or triangular apical lobe, except in H. aglauros Malicky and H. chattrakan Chantaramongkol & Malicky , both with broad, short and rounded apical lobe; (2) long to moderately long segment X, frequently with elongating processes; (3) bilobed and long preanal appendages; and (4) absence of a broad ventromesal sub-apical keel on phallotheca, but with presence of uniquely developed sclerous endothecal lobes and phallotremal sclerites, or variously formed endothecal sclerous spines, plates or hooks accompany the phallothecal apex.
