Type locality. China (Guangdong) .
Male ( Fig. 13–16). Body and wings black fuscous. Forewing with uniformly coloured membrane. Process or protuberance absent on sternum V; with freely flapping, half ring-shaped, plate visible above less sclerotized, rounded window; with fixed ventrum and free, sinuate dorsum. Maxillary palp formula I-( II, III, IV)- V. Maxillary palp short, reaching end of mesonotum. Head dorsum black, with 7 black setal warts. Swollen setal wart present on proepisternum, with long black setae. Small setal wart present on each precoxale (proepisternum). Pretarsal claws asymmetrical, laterally flanked by setal bundle present on all legs. Spur formula 244; protibial posteroapical spurs much smaller than anteroapical spurs.
Wings. Venation typical for the genus. Forewing crossveins m-cu and cu separate; Sc and R separate; Cu2 and A separate at wing margin. Hind wing Sc and R meet before costa, after crossvein r; crossvein s located anteriorly of crossvein r; crossvein m-cu present; stem of M and Cu1 separate; false vein of convolution present near stem of Cu1; median cell open; fork 1 present. Forewing length 11.2 mm, hind wing length 8.3 mm.
Male genitalia. Abdominal segment IX fused annularly, short ( Fig. 13); dorsum half as long as ventrum; median keel very short, broadly diamond-shaped ( Fig. 14), dorsal and lateral surfaces granulose; anterior margins shallowly arciform; antecosta well developed, forming single line; narrowing gradually both dorsad and ventrad before margin. External groove of antecostal suture present. Apical lobe on posterolateral margins small, triangular, located above articulation of gonocoxites. Posterior spine rows continuous, almost complete; present between apical lobes and slope of broad median keel; homogenous; setae uniformly short. Intersegmental depression between segment IX and segment X very deep, stepwise ( Fig. 13); with rounded, obtusely angled step corners. Body of segment X long, curving dorsad; with rounded, slightly narrowing, blunt apex in lateral view ( Fig. 13). In dorsal view forming broad plate with triangular wings ( Fig. 14). Preanal appendages short, pressed to median keel of segment IX; rounded foliate; covered by setae nested in elevated alveoli. Apicoventral setose lobes at apex of segment X modified into pair of short, blunt, setose lobes. Dorsal interlobular gap narrow, deep; demarcated by apicoventral setose lobes. Apicodorsal setose lobe reduced to setose surface merged with apicoventral setose lobes. Smooth cavity on segment X absent. Longitudinal sutures on segment X weak. Coxopodites with wide bases ( Fig. 13); slightly S-shaped; stout, shorter than apex of segment X. Harpagones two-partite, each with basal half broad, each distal half very thin, almost filiform ( Fig. 13, 15). Phallic apparatus ( Fig. 16) simply bent; ventrad curving basal part obtusely angled, without broadening; as broad as horizontal section; tube of horizontal phallotheca with convex dorsum being concave before apex; distally part of phallotheca ending in pair of elongate, upcurving, sclerous endothecal processes with blunt apices; widely separated in ventral or dorsal views; phallotrema surrounded by small phallotremal sclerites; endophallus short, straight, cylindrical, with narrowing, small gonopore constriction.
Female ( Fig. 17–19). Body and wing as in male. Pretarsal claws symmetrical on all legs. Head vertex with 7 large warts.
Female genitalia. In natural intruded position segment VIII partly covering segment IX. Abdomen tapering posterad slightly more in lateral than in dorsal and ventral view; sagittally narrowing posterad. Tergum VIII ( Fig. 17) quadrangular, sclerotized, with pair of weakly sclerotized anteroventral flanks. Mesal dorsocaudal incision small, narrow, shallow,, visible in dorsal view ( Fig. 18). Tergal surface smooth; provided with tiny, closely set microtrichiae, devoid of setae except on margins of ventrocaudal covers, and partly on margins of less sclerotized anteroventral flanks. Posterolateral apodemes narrow, parallel-sided, slightly broadening apicad; fused to dorsal margin of sternum VIII; separated by well-developed sutures; surface less sclerotized, smooth, even distally. Setose distal margin of pleurosterna protruded posterad, highly enforced by sclerotization and by dorsad curving longitudinal sutures on sternum VIII dorsum. In lateral view ( Fig. 17), sternum VIII quadrangular with rounded posterior margins, with freely flanking, or lapping, ventrocaudal lobe-like corners. Ventral plate formed by deep, narrow, mesal, V-shaped incision; lobe-like corner densely covered by long setae flanking and protecting membranous sternal part of segment IX. Dense long setae on ventrocaudal lobe; posterior half of sternum VIII scarcely covered by short setae; anterior one-third devoid of setae. Tergum IX slightly elongating and directing vertically to main axis of abdomen ( Fig. 17); orienting vertically; broadening ventrad together with long, lateral lobe on ventrodistal corner of segment. Narrow antecosta present on anterior margins; in lateral view with acrotergite on dorsum; dorsal margin rounded with central hump seen ( Fig. 17); with 4–5, usually large, long, closely set setae, almost forming pair of brushes on both sides of dorsocaudal margin. Sclerotized ridge running along posterior margin of tergum IX from clasper receptacle to anteroventral corner, delineating depressed cavity of clasper groove. Pair of depressed cavities of clasper grooves shallow, flat, slightly widening, almost indiscernibly. Clasper grooves enlarged into wide distal depressions of tergum IX; anterior parts limited by antecostae on anterior margins; limited ventrally by elevating, lateral lobes; limited dorsally by dorsal rims housing clasper receptacles. Elevated, ventral part, producing into long, parallel-sided, lateral lobes ( Denning 1943) or tongue-like lamellae ( Nielsen 1980); distal surfaces covered by long setae. Lateral lobes forming copulation chelae of segment IX. Clasper receptacles very deep, pouch-like, covered by highly sclerotized lobes continuing ventrad on anterior margins of segment IX; providing room for filiform, distal half of harpagones. Broad distal end of coxopodites filling wide depression of clasper grooves. Sclerotized, elevated posterior margins of segment IX delineating less pigmented, short, wide tergum X along distal margin of tergite IX. Tergum X representing body of upper lip of atrium ( Nielsen 1980) composed of pair of foliate flat lobes covered with short setae nested in large, wart-like alveoli, as well as of tridactylate short lobes. Middle lobes, cerci ( Nielsen 1980), digitate, slender, armed with 2 apical setae; dorsal and ventral processes blunt, small, covered by tiny, peg-like setae on dome-like alveolar membranes in deep alveoli. Concealed basoventral parts partly covered under foliate lobes of tergite X; similarly sclerotized; partly setose, foliate, large, flat, lobe representing sternal lobes of segment X, or lateral tergal plate ( Denning 1943). Tergal and sternal lobes of segment X connected deep inside segment IX by smooth, membranous, triangular and complex median body; dorsally surrounding anovaginal opening; connecting basally to lower lip. Lower lip of atrium ( Nielsen 1980), or vulvar scale ( Schmid 1998), forming distended, bag-like sternal portions of segment IX. Vaginal apparatus in cleared abdomen mostly membranous; slightly sclerotized, sinuate, thin tip connecting lower lip with sclerotized tergum of segment IX, and pair of slightly sclerotized plates present on dorsum of lower lip. Vaginal apparatus in cleared abdomen almost without sclerotization ending in laterally bilobed, ventrally trilobed proximal structure.
