Hydromanicus seychellensis Ulmer, 1910: 47 View in CoL .

Hydropsyche seychellensis ( Ulmer, 1910) ; Schefter 2005: 148.

Type locality. Seychelles Islands .

Remarks. The proepisternal setal warts are absent, like in most Hydromanicus species ; the median cell of the forewings is open; crossvein m-cu in the forewings is present; and only fork 1 is lost in the hind wings. According to these primary generic characters this species belongs in the genus Hydromanicus . Although a minute fork is present in Ulmer’s (1910) original description and drawing, no fork was detected in the specimens studied in this work. Scott (1983) and Schefter (2005) report that the species lacks preanal appendages, but this was observed in a modified form. Like in other species in the Hydromanicus verrucosus species group, the preanal appendages are shifted, or even pressed, to the median keel. In H. seychellensis the 2 lobes, beside being pressed to the median keel, are also fused and are clearly visible.
