Hydromanicus View in CoL View at ENA , new genus cluster
Species of this genus cluster populate lotic waters in the Oriental Region and the northern part of the Neotropical Region. The Hydromanicus genus cluster, comprising of the genera Calosopsyche and Hydromanicus , has the process-like preanal appendages present and 4 unmodified states of the primary generic characters: forewing crossvein m-cu distantly to crossvein cu; hind wing crossvein m-cu present; spur formula 244; and hind wing with forks 1235. The open median cell in the hind wing apparently forms a derived primary generic character being present in all genera. However, the proepisternal setal wart is entirely absent in Calosopsyche , and is present in the Hydromanicus verrucosus species group.
