Orthopsyche peta species group

Large sized ochraceous animals, except O. schefterae Oláh and Johanson has fuscous wing colour. Ninth segment short, longest at apicolateral lobe. Tenth segment with characteristic robust dorsomedian and ventrolateral setose lobes shortening from O. peta Oláh and Johanson to O. schefterae Oláh and Johason. The tenth segment of the later shortened and its setose lobes reduced. Phallic apparatus shallow angulated obtuse angled of about 130 o; chitinised endothecal process or outer lip only half width of the phallothecal ending; phallotremmal sclerits heavily chitinized; ventral endothecal lobes developed into two pairs of lobes, upper lobes sometimes spiny. Second segment of inferior appendages well developed, not slender, short and broad only at O.schefterae Oláh and Johanson. Five species are known from New Caledonia ( Oláh et al. 2006c).
