Cheumatopsyche View in CoL View at ENA , new genus cluster
The Cheumatopsyche genus cluster contains the genera Cheumatopsyche and Potamyia . Both genera have cosmopolitan distribution, and are very diverse on Madagascar and in the Oriental region. This cluster is characterized by having species with few underived primary generic character states, although process-like, preanal appendages are present in the assumed most primitive species groups. Potamyia has more strongly developed preanal appendages in the Madagascan Potamyia ifanadiana species group. Shared characters of this genus cluster is the closely set forewing crossveins m-cu and cu. This character is stable, making it easy to distinguish these species from all other hydropsychine species.
