Filago eriocephala Gussone (1826: 344) View in CoL

Lectotype (designated here): ― ITALY. In arvis apricis Policoro meridionalis. Basilicata, habit colline di Policoro, 23 May 1824 ( NAP photo! Herb. Gussone).

Additional original material examined: ― Illustration in Guss., Pl. Rar.: t. 59, 1826.

Protologue citation: ― “in collibus aridis maritimis Lucaniae; Policoro una cum F. germanica , ae F. pyramidata ”.

Note: ― We choose as lectotype the sheet preserved in Gussone’s herbarium (NAP). According to the label, the collection locality is ‘Mountains of Policoro (colline di Policoro)’ in Basilicata, a region previously named Lucania. Although the voucher bears no collector name, the label was undoubtedly handwritten by Gussone (checked against Burdet 1979).
