Genus Macrobathra Meyrick, 1883 View in CoL
Macrobathra Meyrick, 1883: 425 View in CoL . Type species: Macrobathra chrysotoxa Meyrick, 1886: 804 View in CoL , by subsequent designation ( Meyrick, 1922b).
Synonym: Leurozancla Turner, 1933 View in CoL .
The genus is characterized by a greatly elongated and slender basal segment of the antenna, by the lanceolate forewings with dark, usually blackish ground colour, by the distinct pattern of whitish or yellowish subbasal fascia and costal and dorsal spots, and by the slightly wider hindwings; in the male genitalia, by the symmetrical or rarely slightly asymmetrical brachia and the valva with dense setae distally; in the female genitalia, by the ductus seminalis of the same width with ductus bursae, and the corpus bursae with paired signa ( Zhang & Li 2023). There are more than 120 species described worldwide ( Sinev 2002), of these, more than 90 species are distributed in the Australian region, 11 in India, and 14 in Africa ( Stainton 1859; Meyrick 1883; Turner 1932; Vári et al. 2002; Zborowski & Edwards 2007; De Prins & De Prins 2024). Additionally, 16 species have recently been reported from China ( Qian & Liu 1997; Li & Wang 2004; Zhang & Li 2023). In Korea, only one species, Macrobathra quercea Moriuti, 1973 , was known to date ( Kim et al. 2020).
