Callilanguria ruficeps Achard 1923: 93 . Type locality: Luzon , the Philippines . Type depository: NHMP.

Remarks. Villiers (1945) wrongly spelled the name of the author as “Allard 1923”. It is similar to C. luzonica but can be separated by the color of head, which is red, not dark; the supraorbital ridge is much more distinct than that of C. luzonica . The elytra of the holotype have a green metallic luster. There is an additional male specimen in the NHMP. Achard (1923) did not mention this specimen, but its elytra are purple, also with a metallic luster. We consider it a color variation of C. ruficeps . A scale bar was not provided, but from the original description, we know that the body length is 19–20 mm.

Type specimen examined. (Through photographs from Dr. Lukáš Sekerka) Holotype, male ( NHMP): “S. Luzon \ Callilanguria ruficeps n. sp. TYPE ”.

Additional material examined. (Through photographs from Dr. Lukáš Sekerka) A male specimen ( NHMP): “ Callilanguria ruficeps n. sp. var.\ S. Luzon, Philippines ”.
