Diagnosis. Among the species with five marginal pegs on juga, A. brunneus may be characterized by the short tylus, which only very slightly surpasses the juga and by the strongly contrasting yellowish in large part of coria, with the dark brownish black pronotum and scutellum. Body length male (2.08 mm), female (2.1 mm).

Description. Head. Tylus very slightly surpassing apices of juga; surface shining, strongly punctate on bases of juga and on interocular area; juga with five marginal pegs. Rostrum reaching between middle coxa. Pronotum with anterior margin shallowly emarginated; lateral margins very shallowly emarginated sub-basally; transverse impression moderately indicated, marked by row of course punctures; anterior lobe weakly tumid with two more or less complete rows of coarse punctures subapically and laterally; calli shining with few scattered, minute punctures, midline with double row of fine punctures; posterior lobe, except umbones which project to anterior lobe as a ridge, with numerous separated punctures, becoming finer posteriorly. Hemelytra with few punctures near apex; exocorium closely and uniformly punctured. Prosternal carina not higher than rostral segment II. Legs. Fore femora with premedian, oblique, stout spine unequally furcated; fore tibiae vaguely, obtusely angled ventrally near midlength; hind femora ventrally with slender, oblique, subapical spine about half as long as femoral height, dorsally with distinct, subapical angulation ( Fig. 7o ).

New records. Hidalgo, Zimapan 26-III-1997; H. Brailovsky, 3♀, 1♂.

Distribution. Mexico: Hidalgo, Morelos, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosi ( Froeschner, 1960; Mayorga 2002).
