Material. Holotype: L-S-I ♂, INDIA, Tamil Nadu state, Madurai, river Vaigai , 30.VII.2022, coll. P. Srinivasan, R. Isack ( AMC; new species register number 258) . Paratypes: the same locality, and collectors, 28–31.VII.2021: 1 LS-I ♂, 1 L-S ♂, 1 L-S-I ♀, 4 larvae ( AMC; new species register number 259). The same locality, 10.II.2016, coll. N. Kluge, 1 male larva ( ZIN) .
Etymology. The new species is named after the river Vaigai, in which it was collected.
