Bostrychia simpliciuscula Harvey ex J. Agardh
Mukhopadhyay & Pal 2002, p. 98, Pl. I, g, Pl. III. figs d–f; Mukhopadhyay et al, 2003, p. 72, fig. 16; Satpati et al. 2012. Pl. 1, fig. H; Pl. 2, fig. I.
Distribution in India: West Bengal (North and South of 24 Paraganas; Patibunia Island in the Sundarbans; Matla-Bidya estuary)
Notes: Bostrychia simpliciuscula is known to occur in purely freshwaters ( Kumano 2002), in non-marine habitats ( Ott 2009) and in marine waters as well ( Silva et al. 1996). Although the nature of haptera (cladohaptera or flagellar haptera) had not been examined in the Indian specimens, it is a notable addition to the brackish algal flora of India.
