Taxonomic synonyms: Caloglossa pygmaeum Martens , n. sp; Martens 1871a, p.172; Delesseria pygmaeum Martens (sub. Hypoglossum ) Prain 1905, p. 331; Delesseria ‘pygmaea’ (Martens) Prain; Biswas 1926, p. 34.
Distribution in India: West Bengal (Kolkata, Salt Lakes, along Balliaghat canal, on the culms of Cyperus ).
Notes: Recent authors ( Krayesky et al. 2011; Wynne 2014; Guiry & Guiry 2017) consider Caloglossa leprieurii f. pygmaea as an entity distinct and different from the typical C. leprieurii (see however, Desikachary et al. 1998). Krayesky et al. (2011) examined the specimens of Martens original collection from Kolkata, India, now deposited in L herbarium.
