Sirodotia cirrhosa Skuja ex M. S. Balakrishnan & B. B. Chaugule
Biswas 1934a, p. 8; 1949, p. 104, Pl. X, fig. 102, a – c; Balakrishnan & Chaugule 1980c, p. 242, figs 17–21; Desikachary et al. 1990, Part II A, p. 107.
Distribution in India: Himalayas; South India (locality unknown); Karnataka (Castle Rock); Meghalaya (Shillong, Krinoline, also spelt Crinoline Falls).
Notes: Balakrishnan & Chaugule (1980c) investigated the Indian material (from north and south India), validating the species with a detailed description, illustrations, Latin diagnosis and holotype. According to Silva (2017), the type material was collected from Java. Kumano (2002) synonymized S. cirrhosa with S. huillensis (Welwitsch ex West & G.S. West) Skuja. Silva (2017) and Guiry & Guiry (2017) considered S. cirrhosa as a distinct species, which we have followed here. No molecular data are currently available for S. cirrhosa specimens because it has not been collected and studied since the report of Balakrishnan & Chaugule (1980c) from India.
