Bidessonotus ploterus Young, 1990 View in CoL Figs 25, 31
Bidessonotus ploterus Young, 1990; Nilsson 2016: 99.
Diagnosis.
Specimens are relatively evenly brownish on the elytra with poorly-developed maculae. The prosternal process is lanceolate and slightly sulcate. This is a relatively small species (1.3-1.7 mm). The apical blade of the male median lobe is narrow with a relatively well developed anteroventral rounded prominence and the dorsal margin of the blade broadly truncate with a moderately distinctive medial tooth on the proximal margin (Fig. 25a,d). The right lateral lobe has the apical segment elongate, as long as the basal segment, with a prominent lobe on the ventral surface (Fig. 25b). The apical segment of the left lateral lobe is shorter and broader, apically obliquely truncate and apically expanded (Fig. 25c).
Discussion.
Young (1990) regarded this species as similar to Bidessonotus obtusatus .
Distribution.
This species is known from Brazil (Mato Grosso) (Fig. 31, Young 1990). No additional specimens were examined for this project.
