DIAGNOSIS: Dorsal body setae short, smooth and acute, trichobothrium about three times longer than the latter, seta ba on palp tarsus vestigial, empodial claws present.

FEMALE (4 specimens)

Length of idiosoma 331 (321 ­ 347), width 186 (183 ­ 202).

Dorsum ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ) ­ Dorsum completely covered with striae with two pairs of lyrifissures, one between c 1 and c 2 and the other anterolateral to e. All dorsal body setae short, slender and smooth ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ). Trichobothrium sci very long, about three times as long as rest of dorsal setae and smooth. Opisthosoma provided with five pairs of dorsocentral setae and three pairs of dorsolateral setae; c 2, f 2 and h 2 all subequal in length. Striae transverse between setae d. Measurements of setae as follows: vi 13, ve 13, sci 50 (44 ­ 48), sce 19 (16 ­19), c 1 (16 ­ 19), c 2 19 (16 ­ 19), d 19 (16 ­ 19), e 19 (16), f 1 19 (16 ­ 19), f 2 19 (16 ­ 19), h 1 16 and h 2 19 (16 ­ 19).

Venter ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ) ­ Chaetotaxy of anogenital area and epimeral formula similar to those of previous two species. Lyrifissure ih posterior to anal opening.

Gnathosoma ( Figs. 20­21 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ) ­ Not covered by prodorsum. Setae on infracapitulum simple. Adoral setae (or 1 ­ 2) located distally and minute and setae m and n long and located proximally. Cheliceral stylets (16) subequal to palptarsus (19) ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ). Length of palp 54 (50 ­ 54). Palp with setal formulae (tarsus­genu): 5 (1) ­ 2 ­ 2 (solenidion in parentheses). Tarsus four times longer than tibia, with eupathidium p ' slender, straight and terminally T­shaped, seta ba vestigial and d forked distally ( Fig.21 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ).

Legs ( Figs.22­25 View FIGURES 18 ­ 25 ) ­ Measurements of legs: I 135 (135 ­ 142), II 107 (110 ­ 114), III 113 (117 ­ 123) and IV 123 (126 ­ 132). All legs possess two claws and a hairy empodium. Empodial claws present. Chaetotaxy formulae of leg segments (solenidia in parentheses): tarsi 8 (1)­6 (1)­5­5, tibiae 3+ k ­2­3­2, genua 3­2­1­1, femora 3­2­2­1, trochanters 1­0­1­0, coxae 2­1­3­1, seta ft ' on tarsus I slender and subequal in length to ft”, ft and tc similar to

those of previous two species. Solenidion I longer and stouter than II.

MALE: Unknown.

REMARKS: This species is closely related to L. brusti (Momen & Sinha) and can only be distinguished from the latter in that (1) the dorsal body setae (including sci) of the new species are acute and not blunt distally as in the latter, and (2) 1 is shorter in the new species but not long and slender as in L. brusti . Setae ba on the palptarsus is vestigial in L. vianensis but fully developed in L. brusti .

ETYMOLOGY. Specific name vianensis refers to type locality.

TYPE MATERIAL: Iran: Female holotype collected from soil covered with wheat, Kabutarahang (Vian), 25 Oct. 1993, Dr. J. Eslami; three paratype females with same data.
