Material examined: 1 ♂ Juniper Forest, 8.10.2009; Nyika N.P.; 1 ♂ 7.08.2009; 1 ♀ Mugesse Forest, 9.04.2010, 1 ♀ Ntchisi Forest, 3.11.2012, R. Murphy .
Distribution: Uganda, Kenya, Malawi.
Notes. During a study of the holotype of Pterophorus ecstaticus Meyrick, 1932 it was found that the species in question belongs to the genus Crassuncus . Further comparison of Crassuncus chappuisi Gibeaux, 1994 , described from Kenya, with Crassuncus ecstaticus Meyrick, 1932 established their identity as synonyms. New for Malawi.
