A lax, slender pendulous epiphyte with delicate scattered leaves, the stems usually 20–30 cm long, loosely 2 to 4 times dichotomous. Stems smooth, often reddish, 0.3-0.7 mm thick excl. leaves, shoots 1–1.8 cm wide incl. leaves. Leaves paired to alternate, 1–2 mm apart, spreading to patent, the lamina usually twisted to a vertical position, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, slightly asymmetrical to subfalcate, with acute apex, 6–9 × 1–1.5 mm, the margins entire, midrib slender, long-decurrent. Sporangia 1–3 mm wide.

Distribution: Greater Antilles ( Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico), Lesser Antilles ( Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique), where it grows at high elevations, around 1000 m ( Proctor, 1989). This is the first record for continental South America.

Habitats: Montane forests, 460–1600 m elev.

Note: This species was overlooked in our previous article ( Øllgaard et al., 2020) because the Pipoly specimen had not been found at that time.

Collection studied from the Guianas: 1 (GU: 1)

Guyana: Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region, at headwaters of Kangu R ., W branch, ± 4 km NW of E peak of Mt. Ayanganna, 700 m, 5 Mar 1987, Pipoly et al. 11042 ( FDG not found, NY [3835301!], US [00648152!]) .
