Described by Czerniavsky from the Sinus Suchumicus, Black Sea coast of Georgia, approximate coordinates 42.98°N 42.02°E, depth 1–2 m (there is no material identified in the ZIN-RAS collection). Above I proposed to merge all varieties of S. intermedia View in CoL under the species combination Petrosia (Petrosia) intermedia ( Czerniavsky, 1880) View in CoL .
