Distribution: A. melanurus is known from North Africa, southern Europe, Cyprus, Syria, Iran, Turkey and also it occurs in Afrotropical and Oriental Regions ( Schülke & Smetana, 2015).

Comments: Coiffait (1960) described A. adonis based on a male holotype, a male and two females paratypes from Lebanon and Greece. This species is known from Lebanon, Greece, Saudi Arabia and Turkey ( Schülke & Smetana, 2015). Accoding to Coiffait (1960), the species is distinguished from A. melanurus by the more rounded head, much more distinct punctation on the head and by the different shape of the aedeagus. The type specimens of A. adonis ( Figs. 48–54 ) from the collection of H. Coiffait were studied. However, during the study of types of A. adonis and the additional material of A. melanurus (see above and in Anlaş, 2017), I did not find morphologial differences between these two species. Consequently, A. adonis is placed in synonymy with A. melanurus .
