Lectotype (Jordaan in Bothalia 35: 17. 2005): Herb. Linn. No. 1158.20 ( LINN) .

Current name: Salix babylonica L. View in CoL ( Salicaceae ).

Note: Siddiqi (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 142: 6. 1987) indicated 1158.22 (LINN) as the type, as did Ali (in Ali & Qaiser, Fl. Pakistan 203: 34. 2001) for 1158.21 (LINN), but both collections lack the Species Plantarum number (i.e. “9”) and were post-1753 additions to the herbarium and are not original material for the name.
