An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla , but they have also been found on Mammalia (several orders) and rarely on Anseriformes : Anatidae . Immature stages have been collected from Carnivora : Herpestidae , Rodentia : Muridae , Sciuridae and Thryonomyidae , and Macroscelidea : Macroscelididae . Rhipicephalus senegalensis is a rare parasite of humans.
