An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Carnivora : Canidae , but they have also been collected from Carnivora : Viverridae , Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Primates : Cercopithecidae . There are no records of Rhipicephalus moucheti causing human parasitism.

Note: Walker et al. (2000) stress that their redescriptions of the male and female as well as the description of the Rhipicephalus moucheti male in Morel (1965d) differ in some respects from the figures of the male and female included in Saratsiotis (1981).
