57. Rhipicephalus planus Neumann 1907f .

An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Suidae , but they have also been taken from Mammalia (several orders). Nymphs alone have been collected from Rodentia : Muridae ; larvae alone have been recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae . Rhipicephalus planus is a rare parasite of humans.
