2. Hyalomma albiparmatum Schulze, 1920 View in CoL .
An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , but they have also been collected from Artiodactyla : Giraffidae and Suidae , Carnivora : Canidae and Felidae , Perissodactyla : Equidae and Rhinocerotidae , and rarely from Struthioniformes : Struthionidae ; nymphs alone have been collected from Lagomorpha : Leporidae . Hyalomma albiparmatum is a very rare parasite of humans.
M: Schulze (1920), under the name Hyalomma aegyptium albiparmatum and given its current status in Oudemans (1931)
F: Schulze (1920), under the name Hyalomma aegyptium albiparmatum
N: Apanaskevich and Horak (2008a)
L: Apanaskevich and Horak (2008a)

N: none
L: none
Note: Apanaskevich and Horak (2008a) retain as valid the species Hyalomma albiparmatum , Hyalomma nitidum and Hyalomma truncatum but emphasize that there are few reliable morphological characters to separate adult ticks and none to distinguish the larvae and nymphs of these species, leaving open the possibility that Hyalomma albiparmatum and Hyalomma nitidum are synonyms of Hyalomma truncatum . In relation to this matter, it is important to review the studies of Sands et al. (2017a, b) concerning the biogeography and molecular profile of Hyalomma truncatum throughout its Afrotropical range, including evidence that southern populations of this species differ from northern populations.
