An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , with additional records from Mammalia (several orders) and rarely from Aves (several orders), Squamata : Pythonidae , and Testudines : Testudinidae . Rhipicephalus decoloratus is a rare parasite of humans.
