An Afrotropical and Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , but they have also been collected from Mammalia (several orders), and Aves (several orders). Larvae and nymphs have been recovered from Lagomorpha : Leporidae , and Rodentia : Muridae and Sciuridae . Rhipicephalus guilhoni is a very rare parasite of humans.
