3. Margaropus winthemi Karsch, 1879a View in CoL .
An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae , but they have also been collected from Mammalia (several orders), and Galliformes : Numididae . There are no records of Margaropus winthemi causing human parasitism.

Note: Hoogstraal (1956a) states that the larva and nymph of Margaropus winthemi are undescribed, but no reasons have been found to invalidate the description of the nymph in Neumann (1907b, as Margaropus lounsburyi ) or that of the larva in Bedford (1934).
