Note: Hoogstraal and Wassef (1973) state that the nymph of Haemaphysalis centropi , a synonym of Haemaphysalis doenitzi in Trapido et al. (1964a) , is in fact a nymph of Haemaphysalis howlettti . Sames et al. (2008) suggest that more than one species may be included under the name Haemaphysalis doenitzi . Guglielmone et al. (2014) recognized the taxonomic problems attending Haemaphysalis doenitzi , stating that additional studies are needed to properly define this species and related taxa. See also Haemaphysalis pavlovskyi and Haemaphysalis phasiana for their proposed synonymy with Haemaphysalis doenitzi .
