N: none

Note: Guglielmone et al. (2003) state that redescription of the types of Amblyomma multipunctum is needed in order to resolve differences in the descriptions of this species among authors, while warning that the keys in Jones et al. (1972) are useless when attempting to identify Amblyomma multipunctum . Labruna et al. (2013) stated that the description of Amblyomma multipunctum in Boero and Prosen (1959) probably corresponds to Amblyomma scalpturatum . An accurate description of Amblyomma multipunctum is still needed although Fonseca and Aragão (1953) should have preeminence over other descriptions (apart from the original description of the female) because their redescription of the male is based on the type series (two specimens with minor variation between them), while Robinson (1926) described one male from the type series.
