A Neotropical species whose adults are usually found on Rodentia : Cuniculidae ; adults and nymphs have been collected from Carnivora : Canidae , and Rodentia : Caviidae and Cuniculidae ; adults alone have been recovered from Mammalia (several orders); larvae and nymphs have been collected from Didelphimorphia : Didelphidae , Rodentia : Echimyidae , and Gruiformes : Cariamidae ( Esser et al. 2016 a, Nava et al. 2018, Bermúdez et al. 2018, Gruhn et al. 2019). Amblyomma pacae is a very rare parasite of humans.
