An Australasian species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Casuariiformes: Casuariidae ; adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Cervidae , and Monotremata : Tachyglossidae . There are no records of Amblyomma papuanum causing human parasitism.
