F: Whittick (1939), Anastos (1950), Kaufman (1972) and Santos Dias (1993), all under the name Aponomma komodoense

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) list Amblyomma komodoense as an Australasian and Oriental species, but according to Guglielmone et al. (2014) it is an Australasian tick. Anastos (1950) supports the opinion of Whittick (1939), stating that coxa I of the male of Amblyomma komodoense has two spurs and not one, as depicted in the original description in Oudemans (1928b), a view also supported by Kaufman (1972).
