An Australasian species whose adults are usually found on Diprotodontia : Phalangeridae . Adults and larvae have been taken from Rodentia : Muridae ; immature stages have also been collected from Phalangeridae , as well as Diprotodontia : Potoroidae , and Peramelemorphia : Peramelidae ( Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Harvey et al. 2019). There are no bona fide records of Ixodes trichosuri feeding on humans.
