220. Ixodes stilesi Neumann, 1911b View in CoL .
A Neotropical species whose adults and nymphs are usually found on Artiodactyla : Cervidae , but one specimen of the undescribed larva was collected from Cervidae ; nymphs alone have been recovered from Rodentia : Cricetidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Verdugo et al. 2016). There are no records of Ixodes stilesi causing human parasitism.
M: Guglielmone et al. (2006)
F: Neumann (1910a) , under the name Ixodes elegans , preoccupied, and given its current name in Neumann (1911b)
N: Guglielmone et al. (2006)
L: undescribed
Redescriptions
M: Nava et al. (2017)
F: Nuttall and Warburton (1911), Guglielmone et al. (2006, 2007, see note below), Nava et al. (2017)
N: Nava et al. (2017)
Note: Clifford et al. (1973) doubt the validity of Ixodes stilesi , but it is a good species. The redescription of the female of this tick in Guglielmone et al. (2006) contains errors that were amended in Guglielmone et al. (2007).
