229. Ixodes tasmani Neumann, 1899 View in CoL .
An Australasian species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Mammalia (several orders); adults and nymphs have also been collected from Diprotodontia : Petauridae , Phascolarctidae and Vombatidae , and Monotremata : Tachyglossidae . Adults alone have been recovered from Mammalia (several orders), while nymphs alone have been taken from Diprotodontia : Potoroidae , and Rodentia : Muridae ( Krige et al. 2017, Burnard et al. 2018, Guglielmone & Robbins 2018, Loh et al. 2018). Ixodes tasmani is a sporadic parasite of humans.

Note: Roberts (1970) states that more than one taxon is probably included under the name Ixodes tasmani but rejected the subspecies Ixodes tasmani victoriae described by Schulze (1935b), while Kwak et al. (2017) and Evans et al. (2019) presented molecular evidence that supports the hypothesis of Roberts (1970).
