A Neotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia : Caviidae , but they have also been recovered from Mammalia (several orders); immature stages have been collected from Rheiformes: Rheidae , and Passeriformes : Furnariidae , Passerellidae and Turdidae . Amblyomma dubitatum is a sporadic parasite of humans.
