A Neotropical species whose larvae and nymphs are usually found on Rodentia : Caviidae , but all known parasitic stages have been recovered from Caviidae . Females alone have been collected from Artiodactyla : Bovidae , and Perissodactyla : Equidae . There are no records of Ixodes longiscutatus causing human parasitism.
