An Oriental and Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia : Sciuridae . Nymphs alone have been collected from Passeriformes : Muscicapidae and Sittidae ; larvae alone have been recovered from Passeriformes : Timaliidae and Turdidae . There are no records of Ixodes kuntzi causing human parasitism.
