An Oriental species whose adults are usually found on Rodentia : Sciuridae ; larvae and nymphs are commonly recovered from Rodentia : Muridae , and Soricomorpha : Soricidae ; all parasitic stages have been collected from Rodentia : Sciuridae , Muridae and Hystricidae ; immature stages have also
been recovered from Artiodactyla : Cervidae and Tragulidae , and Carnivora : Canidae and Felidae . Ixodes petauristae is a very rare parasite of humans.
