28. Ixodes bequaerti Cooley and Kohls, 1945 . A Neotropical species whose females have been found on Passeriformes : Turdidae and Thraupidae , and Trogoniformes : Trogonidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Bermúdez et al. 2018). There are no records of Ixodes bequaerti causing human parasitism.

Note: Clifford et al. (1973) and Camicas et al. (1998) list Ixodes bequaerti as a Nearctic species, but this is in error ( Guglielmone et al. 2003).
