A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Passeriformes (several families); larvae and nymphs are commonly recovered from Rodentia : Muridae , but they have also been taken from Soricomorpha : Soricidae , and Chiroptera : Rhinolophidae ; adult ticks alone have been collected from Carnivora : Canidae . There are no records of Ixodes eldaricus causing human parasitism.
