An Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia : Muridae ; larvae and nymphs are also commonly recovered from Soricomorpha : Soricidae ; adults and nymphs have been collected from Carnivora : Felidae and Herpestidae , and Primates : Cercopithecidae ; adults alone have been found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae ; immature stages have been taken from Rodentia : Sciuridae , and rarely from Passeriformes : Alaudidae . There are no records of Ixodes ceylonensis causing human parasitism.
