An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages have been found on Mammalia (several orders); adults and nymphs have been collected from Cuculiformes : Cuculidae ; immature stages have been recovered from Galliformes : Numididae and Phasianidae , and Passeriformes : Turdidae . Ixodes cumulatimpunctatus is a rare parasite of humans.
